About Ashes of Rome

Ashes of Rome is a tour operator based in Rome. We run guided tours and sell skip-the-line tickets for the sites most people come to the city to see: the Colosseum with the Roman Forum and the Palatine Hill, the Vatican Museums and the Sistine Chapel, the Borghese Gallery, and the two villas of Tivoli, Hadrian’s Villa and Villa d’Este.

Every guided tour is led by a licensed guide who works in Rome and knows these sites from years of walking them. Groups stay small, a maximum of twenty people inside the Vatican Museums, so you can hear the guide and ask questions without raising your voice.

Entry is the part that ruins most visits, so we handle it ourselves: your ticket is reserved in advance, for a fixed time slot, in the names of the people travelling. You meet our representative at the agreed point, you walk in, and the queue at the main entrance is someone else’s problem.

Plans change, so every tour and ticket can be cancelled free of charge up to 24 hours before the start time. If you are not sure which tour fits the days you have in Rome, write to us and a person in Rome answers, usually the same day.
